i have a 93 grand limited and am experiencing some strong hesitation problems. Let me give you the background: Just about daily it will spit and sputter with cruise control on between 60-65 mph, it lasts for a few seconds clear up and a mile or two down the road do it again, the cruise control doesn't have to be engaged for this to take place. Sometimes the check engine light will come on and sometimes it won't. I did clean my IAC sensor but it still hesitates. What top three things do you guys think it may be? I have searched threads and there is alot of different information out there, I would like to narrow it down before I throw money at it. Thanks!

What engine? It could be something else, but the description is the same as when my CPS was starting to go on a '93 XJ with 4.0L. Have you tried to retrieve trouble codes, either with a reader or with the key trick?

It's the 5.2. I haven't tried any code search. How do I search with the key?

Is it running lean or rich. code 21 oxygen sensor? need to replace O2sensor then. Does your cat rattle? get a shop to put it in. $25 probably.
