Engine/Tranny Skid Plate Install
Skid Row Part #XJ-ESP-14
There's already a write up on this install here. Even though that is on a TJ, there were no differences in the process. The only thing I have to add is that there are two part numbers for this plate on an XJ. One for a 10" cross-member the other for a 14" cross-member. You can see where it is measured from here:
For my application it was the 14" cross-member…[ForestGump]and that's all I have to say about that.[/ForestGump]

Got this email:

Row T-case skid? How has it held up for you?

Tell him to post up and I'll answer his question.
The skid hangs no lower than the crossmember and fits pretty tight to the oil and tranny pans. I installed a Fumoto valve to ease changing the oil...but I have to drop the skid to do tranny service.
