Hi
Here in the Uk I have a 2.8crd Auto Cherokee, with 40k miles covered from new. It has just passed 4 years old and has had all dealer servicing.

I have noticed when pulling away from a junction especially after a long run at speed the back end feels as if it is slightly grabbing for grip , almost as though the wheels are slipping on the road for a second.

This happens with slight turn on the steering in two wheel drive only.
The main dealer has added more friction modifier, this cured it for about 1 week, now it has returned.

Has anyone had a similar experience and if so with any cures known?
Is this 'chatter' as I have heard it described.

thanks

Try throwing some Royal Purple or Redline in it.

Did they service the differentials (change the gear oil)? If not than is should be expected. You're supposed to change the gear oil every 30,000 miles.
Click these for specific product use. There are other brands out there also!

Red Line

Royal Purple

Hi,
Just had the same here.

I had it drained and refilled by the dealer with the Mopar additive and synthetic oil. All good now after 60 ish miles of driving.

They did tell me that as the oild gets old the additive does too and gets less effective. Confused

I have a 96 I bought used this fall and had the same problem. Not Knowing where it was in terms of regular maintenance I drained mine (which looked pristine) and went back with the Royal Purple. It seemed to improve slightly, but its still there. I'm wondering if their may be some slack in my u-joint, but highway ride etc. seem fine.
